Trainer: Ann Epps, MA
Ann is one of the originators of the Technology of Participation, ToPTM, process used internationally by consultants and facilitators to support participatory management processes. Ann has served as facilitator, consultant, and trainer to numerous organizations in Indonesia, Singapore, Europe, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia and North America as well as Malaysia in the areas of facilitator training, creative and strategic thinking, customer service, teambuilding, communications, leadership development, and organizational change.
Prior to joining LENS International, she served as manager, marketing research and planning for a multinational manufacturer headquartered in Chicago and was a university lecturer at SMU, Dallas. Ann is a certified Total Quality Management Consultant, an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator and Assessor of Facilitators applying for certification, and a contributing author to the book: "Participation Works: Business Case Studies from around the World." Ann is a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) and one of the organizers of the Malaysia Facilitators' Forum and the IAF Asia Facilitators' Conference now in its eleventh year.
Trainer: John L Epps, PhD
One of the original architects of the Technology of Participation ToPTM , John has designed and facilitated seminars and consultations on an in-house basis for more than 300 organizations throughout Southeast Asia, the U.S. and Europe with clients such as the Malaysian National Petroleum group, The Life and General Insurance Associations of Malaysia, Citibank, Hongkong Bank, Shell, Deloitte Touche, the Malaysi Central Bank, Ericsson Regional Service Centre, the National Institute of Education, Singapore, Singapore Press Holdings ,TVS Holdings of India, ICS Adviseurs of the Netherlands, and Norwegian Save the Children in Asia.
As a Director of LENS International (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia and LENS Leadership in Singapore, John conducts sessions in creative and strategic thinking, customer service and participative leadership development. As a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF), John regularly makes presentations at their annual conferences and contributes to the publications of the Association of Quality and Participation and the IAF. He also authored the chapter on “Facilitation from the Inside Out,” for the IAF Handbook of Group Facilitation.
John is currently an adjunct professor of the University of Maryland where he teaches several on-line graduate-level courses in International Strategic Management and Country Risk Analysis.
