Over the last 15 years, participating members of the  Minnesota ToP team have been founding or participating members of the following organizations, each of them valuable facilitation resources. We recommend each as an excellent place to look for local and international conferences, articles, approaches, community.

Institute of Cultural Affairs:
www.ica-usa.org
The Institute of Cultural Affairs in the U.S.A. (ICA-USA) is a private, nonprofit, social change organization that promotes positive change in communities, organizations and individual lives. The ToP® methods are a trademark of the Institute of Cultural Affairs. (Add ICA Logo). For over 35 years, The Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA-USA) has been a catalyst for positive social change. We deliver community development programs, ranging from child and family empowerment initiatives to consulting other agencies how best to achieve their goals. ICA-USA:
• Designs, delivers, and teaches people to use simple, yet highly productive, group leadership processes through our group facilitation methods called the Technology of Participation (ToP®).
• Provides strategic planning facilitation to groups and organizations. Click here to view our Organizations Served.
• Initiates collaborative research projects designed to bring diverse stakeholders together to address challenging social issues of the day.

Institute of Cultural Affairs International:
www.ica-international.org
The Institute of Cultural Affairs International undertakes programs, together with our member organizations, that advance our mission. We focus on the world’s fundamental human challenges, carrying out activities in two principal arenas:

1. Participating in international policy dialogues to share lessons from our field programs and contribute to the creation and implementation of improved development policies consistent with our values and approach; and
2. Coordination and support of field programs of member organizations to address these challenges on the ground.

The Institute of Cultural Affairs International also organizes the quadrennial Global Conference on Human Development, a unique opportunity for leading practitioners and researchers to explore and develop new solutions to global human development challenges.

Minnesota Facilitators Network:
www.mnfacilitators.org
A Community of Practice Making Meetings Easier and More Effective; Gathering 6 times/year, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m, This organization was founded by the Minnesota- (ICA) ToP practitioners a decade ago – is a very ‘user-friendly’ way to meet other facilitators, to share and learn. Meetings $15 for members, $25 for non members, includes a light dinner!

International Association of Facilitators:
http://www.iaf-world.org

The International Association of Facilitators (IAF) is dedicated to growing facilitators and encouraging the use of group process methodologies world-wide. Facilitation is a profession rapidly taking its unique place alongside those of consulting and training. The International Association of Facilitators was formed by a group of professionals desiring an avenue for interchange, professional development, trend analysis and peer networking. A formal association was proposed and adopted at a networking conference in Alexandria, Virginia, in January, 1994. More than 70 people signed on as charter members. Since then the IAF has grown to... over 1500 members in more than 63 countries.  Our members work in government, nonprofit, educational, community, and corporate environments and hold positions as  consultants, teachers, in-house facilitators, negotiators, organizational specialists, coaches, and more.

As a participatory organization, the work of the IAF is reliant on volunteer leadership and the contributions of its members. The IAF encourages and supports the formation of local groups of facilitators to network and provide professional development opportunities for their members. Regional groups from around the world are invited to become affiliated with the IAF to help promote the profession of facilitation as a critical set of skills in the global society of the 21st century.
